Actually, we don’t really like to talk about ourselves so much. We prefer to let our food do the talking for us.

Instead, the focus of this section is on the real time interactions in the moment with you all! Hernande’z is this magical thing that is created when you visit us and take part in and co-create the experience of  joining with us and our family at this place which is somewhat suspended in time and space. It is the conversations that happen between strangers as they sit together at the communal tables. It is you being so kind and patient as one of the kids struggles to explain the menu to you when you are ordering. It is the connection between the person who left the underground magazine, we who lay it out for perusal, and you who pick it up and the invisible communication between all of us that occurs. It is the connection between you and Jerson’s family in El Salvador as you experience some of their unique culture and they get to see how their culture is re-interpreted here in Victoria.

All these invisible, vibrating strands of connections–It is the beauty of community. That is the power of Hernande’z. You are an integral part.

Actually, we are creating a section which focuses on you–your projects, your profiles, your ideas–that it could be an incredible powerhouse. Jerson and the kids and I have talked with many of you and we know that if all of you could have a forum to literally communicate with each other, amazing and wonderful things could happen. Right now, some of this can be found in the “community” section.

This is the place to send your comments, ideas, philosophical musings, and maybe your thoughts about this as yet, amorphous, unformed gallery idea.

ps I deliberately haven’t been absolutely clear on what kind of information that I am looking for. This is to leave space and invite your creativity.
