Anne Hoban is our friend. She is also a gifted collage artist. Lucky for us, Anne has shared some aspects of her art with us at Hernande’z. When we were opening our place on Yates Street, we needed to have neat tables! As a labour or love, she took the images of our loteria cards, and juxtaposed them to make interesting stories. The tables have been well used and well loved over the years, so they are temporarily being covered up to preserve the art. If you peek under the brilliant market style table cloths at Yates Street, you will find these interesting works of art beneath.
