Locations and Hours
We have two locations:
Fast Casual: Yates St.
Located in the walk through of a downtown office building, our Yates St. location can be accessed by walking off of either Yates Street or View St. If you are walking down Yates from Blanshard to Douglas–the entrance is on the left hand side of the road. It is in a office building flanked by silver metallic pillars between Fido and Mirage Cafe. Day or night–open or closed–there is a brilliant neon sign that reads “Arcade Shops Open”. Go through those doors. Hernande’z is inside on your right after the drycleaner’s.
If you are going in from View Street–You’ll see the same silver pillars and the same “Arcade Shops Open” sign–again, go through the doors and you’ll find us through the walkway, past Poppies, past Souped Up, past Alchemy down the stairs on your left…
Having grown used to the needs of downtown office workers to have food that is nutritious and quick; the menu emphasis is time. So, you will see two menus, one labelled “slow food” and one labelled “express”. The “slow food” menu features the tacos, huaraches and burritos. These items take longer to prepare. The “Express” Menu features burritos. Burritos can be prepared much more quickly since we don’t make flour tortillas in house fresh to order (yet!)
We welcome both eat-in and take-out orders. There is no phone for pre-orders because we are not currently set up to accept pre-orders.
Current Hours: Seven Days a Week 11:30 (ish) until 9:00 pm
Parking can be found at meters up and down Yates St., or in the View St. parkade.
Bay Street (Closed, until it’s not)
Flanked by two beautiful palm trees, our Bay St. location is on the border of two of our favorite neighbourhoods in Victoria: Fernwood and Haultain. We took this location on as a whim, to enable Jerson to explore and create in his own “culinary studio”. When we first opened in December of last year, we were well embraced by our neighbours who came to pick up burritos and huaraches…so well embraced that the business became a bit too big to manage! We’ve decided to close it temporarily in order to regain our balance…to ensure that we can maintain the level of quality that is our promise.
Current Hours: not open
